November is when Americans take time to pause, reflect, and give thanks for our blessings. On November 11, 1918, the fighting in World War I ceased on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month of the year. Since 1954, November 11th has been observed as the national holiday of Veterans Day to honor American veterans of all wars for the sacrifices they’ve made to make the world a safer place. November also kicks the holiday shopping season into high gear! Some analysts predict online spending on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday to increase 20% over last year. While we encourage sticking to a budget and price comparison shopping throughout the year, no month deserves some tips for staying the course more than this one. Want to be sure you’re getting the best prices on your purchases? Use price-comparison apps, like BuyVia, ScanLife, and ShopSavvy, and take advantage of browser extensions that scour the web for discounts and coupons, such as InvisibleHand, PriceBlink, and The Camelizer. Saturday, November 27th is Small Business Saturday! Many small businesses have struggled during the pandemic. When you shop locally, you’re not only supporting them, but you’re individually stimulating your local economy, which in turn creates a return on investment on what you spend. It’s truly a win-win for you and your community! As you gather on November 25th for Thanksgiving Day, we hope you find a lot to be grateful for, including family, good friends, good health, and the many freedoms we enjoy because of our brave veterans. Please know how thankful we are to have you as our client! Sending a special thank you to our veterans and a Happy Thanksgiving to all! |
